HOW TO ORDER LEATHER                                                                               

Leather is by

CUTS (per square inch)                                            EXAMPLE 12” X 12” piece and

HIDE or ½  HIDE   Whole hides run about 45-55 square feet.  Half hides run about 22-27 square feet.  When you get billed for the hide you will be billed per square foot.   Half hides are cut from head to tail of the hide.  Equivalents of leather (square feet to fabric yardage) are shown below

Square feet in leather to yard of 54” wide Fabric

17 square feet = approx. 1 yard

34 square feet = approx. 2 yards

51 square feet = approx. 3 yard                   (approximately the size of one hide)
